Madonna of Japan Memorial Park

As a symbol of peace between the Filipinos and Japanese people 33 years after the second world war, this monument of the Madonna of Japan ( Maria Kannon ) is erected in memory of the brave soldiers who fought and died in this battle field.

It is also referred to as the statue of the Goddess of Peace.

The image/statue stands on a rock amidst a landscaped garden, Tall trees and flowering plants can be seen within the park along with concrete benches where one can sit, pray and reflect.

This small statue in a small Japanese house is believed to gaurd and protect the whole memorial park

This monument is situated at Kanhuraw Hills, Tacloban City, Leyte, Philippines. a gift from the Japanese people to the Philippines
